Just over a year after their worldwide renowned debut "A Smarter Enemy" Arctic Sunrise are back again, providing prove of their unceasing creativity with the release of "When Traces End". All pieces of the album are engulfed in the contemporary-retro sound Arctic Sunrise invented, dealing with the multifaceted layers of human nature, ranging from escapism ("When Traces End") , love ("Forever Yours") to the horrible depths of a psychopathic serial killer ("Mine Forever").\nBeing a stickler for details in the creation of his analog soundscapes, sound artist and producer Steve Baltes is once more successful in providing an exceptional and impressive frame for the soulful voice and profound lyrics of Torsten Verlinden. As on their first album, Arctic Sunrise again refrained from using standard computer plugins. Due to Steve Baltes' likes for old instruments (and a true passion to collect them, too) one is able to yet again listen to rare analog instruments,\ninherited from their most fancied decade - the 80s. A great opportunity to experience this is the song "Tell The Truth" which instrumental parts mostly consist of a live played exSoviet synthesizer. With the album's first single release "Silent Tears" Arctic Sunrise take a bow before their 80s heroes without being satisfied by sounding retro, but to give skilled citations of their role models, thus developing their own signature even more. The final touch to "When Traces End" was once more\nleft to the capable hands of one of the world's most popular mastering egineers, Steffen Mller. Arctic Sunrise is seen as the new hope in German synthpop, and with the release of the new album "When Traces End" rightly so!
