Prof Bram only started singing and composing songs at a later age.
This CD contains 12 songs composed by himself, with melodies that are very pleasant to the ear. It's classic pop music, with various styles reminiscent of the Eagles and the Beatles, but also older music from the likes of Roy Orbison and Fats Domino. The music is very accessible, and there are beautiful solos with guitar, steel guitar, accordion and saxophone. The lyrics are very personal in nature, real glimpses into the soul of the singer. You could call it a love life sketch as all the songs are inspired by experiences with women in the singer's life. The singer is sometimes very successful with the opposite sex - too successful at times - then again surprised and disappointed. The texts are so visual that they can be imagined as movie scenes. The accompaniment is crystal clear and crackling, is well played, is freshly arranged, and often illustrates the text. The rhythms are nicely varied from rock and country-pop rhythms to Latin-like ballads, with appropriate, often very subtle percussion.
