Who is DERLIN ?

My name is Erwin Musper, music producer and recording engineer. You can check my credentials on the English Wikipedia.

Almost two years ago we were in the middle of a national lockdown in Ecuador. Three hours per week out of the house to get your groceries. Only humanitarian aid transport was allowed. I did get a license to drive because, on top of my work for the orphanage, I had organized food drives to the poorest families in my village.

One day, while delivering bags of food, a mother with three kids told me that her 9 year old son loved to sing all day and that he was really good. Skeptical at first, I checked it out and he was not just good, he was amazing!  The boy’s name : DERLIN.

It gave me an idea to help the family by recording a few songs with the boy. I also produced a video. ( It helps that I still have a small recording studio in my house ). My friends in the music business near and far contributed by playing on the songs for free. I chose to record a Spanish version of one of the most famous French songs ever, and also an authentic Ecuadorian folk song with the backing of three great local guitar players. Three more songs are in the making…..

To help out the family, I decided to make the video and the two songs available worldwide as of today. Five Dollars or Euros (or a bit more if you like by ordering more downloads for your friends and family) will give you a unique code that allows you to download these first two recordings of our multitalented boy. 100 % of the donated money will go directly to the family.

A few months ago, I invited DERLIN to sing a few songs at the orphanage and the kids went crazy. And on our regular movie nights, I always play his video as a ’support act’ . Eighty kids loudly singing every word, every time.I hope that there is a future for him as a singer, but for now, I like to see that his talent will help his family out of poverty. It’s up to you.
