Resistance
After "Visions Of Crime And Pain"" (2014), ""Dark Times"" (2017) and ""Stages To Verity"" (2020), the fourth longplayer of the Saxon darkwave - electro project ANTIVOTE called ""Resistance"" is now released at the usual three-years’ interval. Padu and his two comrades-in-arms, Ron and Vogte, have once again upped the ante as well.rnrnHere again, the album traditionally begins and ends with an instrumental piece. And the songs in between pack a punch. With ""Tabula Rasa"" the direction is set. The driving beat, accompanied by a tapestry of synth sounds, is perfectly framed by guitar sounds. Definitely catchy and a check out tip-off. ""Absurd Aims"" then follows in a familiar style and, like ""Course To Rule"", should also be considered a recommendation. More guitar and bass lines can be heard on this album than on the previous ones, but they don't seem overdone and go in the coldwave direction. In general, every song has its special touch and it never gets boring while listening.rnrnLyrically, the three guys don't mince their words. Almost the entire album is like a wake-up call to everyone who still agrees with current world politics and its harassment of humanity. For all those who don't want to be dictated by incompetent politicians, the album is an extremely demanding, rebellious work, whose name speaks for itself: ""Resistance""."
