Avantgarde Music proudly announces the long-awaited return of two cult recordings from the depths of the Swedish black metal underground: Nifelheim and On Twilight Enthroned, the complete studio legacy of Throne Of Ahaz. Born in 1991, Throne Of Ahaz emerged from the same cold Nordic soil that gave rise to the early Scandinavian black metal movement, yet carved out a distinct identity through a more atmospheric and arcane approach. Their debut full-length Nifelheim (1995) stands as a cornerstone of the genre’s second wave, a work steeped in mournful melody, ritualistic pacing, and an unmistakable sense of nocturnal grandeur. Its successor, On Twilight Enthroned (1997), further expanded the band’s vision, embracing deeper layers of atmosphere and introspection while maintaining the austere spirit of its predecessor. Together, these two albums represent a complete and self-contained artistic statement, a brief yet powerful legacy that has only grown in stature over time which was part of the Swedish cult label No Fashion Records. Avantgarde Music previously honored these works with vinyl reissues in 2016 and 2018, both of which quickly fell out of print and became sought-after items among collectors and devotees of the genre. Now, after years of unavailability, Avantgarde Music makes Nifelheim and On Twilight Enthroned accessible once more, restoring these seminal recordings to circulation for a new generation of listeners, as well as longtime followers who have come to regard them as essential works of the era. These reissues preserve the original spirit and aesthetic of the albums, presenting them in carefully crafted vinyl editions that reflect the timeless and enigmatic nature of the music itself.
